It is believed that Wat Arun was built during Ayutthaya era and is better known from its other name: Wat Chaeng, which means the Temple of Dawn.

Your last visit one of the most attraction for tourist “  Wat Traimit( The Temple of  Golden Buddha Statue  ) his Buddhist temple near Bangkok Chinatown is best known for only one thing: The Golden Buddha. The story goes that in 1931 there was a restoration taking place at Wat Phraya Krai in Yannawa district. The main Buddha statue, which was seen made of cement, was then relocate to Wat Trai Mit, which was also undergoing its major renovation and expansion. Twenty years later, in 1955, when the structures were completed, the Buddha statue was being moved to enshrined in one of the buildings. But the Buddha statue was too heavy it fell off from the lifting crane and its surface was cracked to reveal pure gold hidden inside. After flaking off the cement surface, the three-meter-tall pure-gold Buddha statue was unveiled. It was made of three tons of 18-carat gold during the ancient Sukhothai Kingdom, around 700-800 years old. It is believed that the original Golden Buddha was covered with cement plaster to hide it from enemies during the Sukhothai-Ayutthaya disputes. It is now the world’s largest pure-gold Buddha image, enshrined at the newly-built multi-level stupa.

Drive around to China Town , Bangkok’s Chinatown, Thailand’s largest Chinese community, is commonly known among Thais as Yaowarat, according to the name of the road where it is located. The Chinese community dominated trades between Siam (ancient Thailand) and China since the reign of King Rama I, centered around Ratchawong Pier, while the construction of Yaowarat Road hadn’t begun until 1891 during the reign of King Rama V.  Today, Yaowarat is widely known as the kingdom’s largest center of gold trade and a great foodie destination. Yaowarat simply has two faces: If you visit Yaowarat during the day, what you see along both sides of this one and a half kilometer road are shops selling gold, Chinese herbs, fruits and Chinese restaurants serving authentic cuisine. But if you visit Yaowarat after sunset, the road turns into a street food heaven where a number of food trucks prepare you marvelous food, from Chinese fried noodles to iced Chinese dessert, you hardly find elsewhere.
